401k my broker let 17,000 in cash sit for 2 years.
401k employer plan - Ive had it for almost 3 years. The broker let 17,500 cash sit for almost 3 years - He never invested it. I just now asked him to do something with it and he put it all in RALCX fund class C with annual expense ratio of 2.07%. I asked him to move it to RALSX with expense ratio of 1.07% but he said I need a balance of 25,000 to do so. I am new at all of this - Am I correct when believing that 2.07% is too much? Where should I ask him to move my money that wont cost me as much? I am a long term investor and have a long ways to go until retirement. Thank you.
Remember: NEVER pay broker fees, negotiate your rent down, etc.
No fee apartments in Manhattan under $1500/month: https://streeteasy.com/for-rent/manhattan/price:-1500%7Cno_fee:1?view=map Example: at my old studio in Fidi, 2016: 2200/month (when i moved in) 2018: 2900/month (when i left... dunno wtf would pay this) 2020: 1875/month It is 100% a renters' market in Manhattan right now. Never pay broker fees, that's just a scam. Negotiate down. If your lease is coming up for renewal, you're in luck! If your landlord won't reduce it to BELOW what you could get elsewhere, move elsewhere. Remember your landlord has to pay marketing fees, have it sitting empty, etc. all to get that new lower market price anyways. You have all the leverage, use it :)
I'm looking for a European broker that is zero commission that lets EU citizens trade US options without any fees. I have taken a look at SAXO but they have high fees. Also looked at DeGiro but they didn't have the US options that i want. I am now searching for another. What 0% commission broker do you fellow europeans use for trading US options?
just found out my Edward Jones Canada broker charges me a 2% commission on all dividend reinvestments they make for me
i just found out my edward jones canada broker charges me 2% commission to take my dividend and buy more stock with it on october 28 i received $163.80 in dividends to my edward jones account. that is fine. They then bought me 2 shares of BNS but I was missing some cash. The total of what I had left over in cash and how much stock I bought didn't add up To top it off when i phoned my broker she said never heard of such a thing and I was wrong but she would look into Today, she sends me this link with this text: https://www.edwardjones.ca/images/dividend-reinvestment-CA.pdf How are we paid for our services? If you invest in stocks, you pay a 2% reinvestment fee based on the amount of dividends you reinvest. This means that if you reinvest $500 into stocks per month, your fee would be $10, leaving $490 available for reinvestment. If you reinvest into a mutual fund, you pay the price determined by the prospectus. If you reinvest mutual fund dividends into the same mutual fund, there is no charge. How is your financial advisor compensated? Your financial advisor’s branch receives a P&L credit for the reinvestment fee when you reinvest into a stock. As a result, your financial advisor’s eligibility for a bonus will be positively impacted. When mutual funds are purchased through reinvestment, your financial advisor receives a percentage of the sales charge, if any. Your financial advisor also receives a portion of any ongoing payments, called trailer fees paid to Edward Jones. Our revenue affects Edward Jones’ overall profitability and thus may affect any branch bonus your financial advisor receives. Is this normal?
Yes, he’s right. It’s a shame Trump is the first president in 40 years to not start any new wars, and he’s responsible for brokering two historic peace deals in the Middle East. We need a new candidate to go against this evil president.
There's a new "Sell now" button in the corner of the selling dialog with a tooltip that says there will be no brokers fee. You have to check that box to avoid the fee! If you just sell at the price of the buy order, without checking the box, then you will still sell immediately, but the broker will still take his cut. The other difference is that any left over goods will be returned instead of placed on the market at that price.
What Remedies Do I Have When A Broker Breaks & Enters My Apartment
First I understand this is normal when your lease is coming to and end and you have received advance notice for the owner to show your apartment. However this was not the case for me and I've been leasing my apartment for well over a year... On Sunday morning (and as I was in the bathroom doing my business), a broker used a key to unlock my apartment and enter the unit. I finished my business ASAP and came running out of the bathroom to investigate what was going on. At the door was a broker I've never met in my life with what appeared to be a client behind him. He indicated he was showing the apartment. I told him it's not available and I've been living here for over a year. He looked puzzled and I escorted him out the door. I contacted my landlord via email questioning why a broker had a key to my apartment and was showing the unit and have not heard back. To be honest, I still don't know if it was a broker. I'm assuming this was all an honest mistake but I'm very concerned how easy it was for a stranger to enter my apartment (especially during COVID). Had I not been home, they would have entered my apartment unannounced and had access to valuables and my personal belongings. My landlord has still not emailed me back with any type of explanation. I still don't know if this was a broker. I don't know why they had a key to my apartment. Should I be concerned? What remedies do I have? Should I be replacing the locks on my own dime?
